Have yourself a ball by traveling back in time to Opening Day with the Vintage Baseball Association!
Take me out to the Vintage ball game! May 6th is opening day for the Vintage Baseball Association, a baseball organization that plays by the rules of baseball in the 1860's. Members of this league play without gloves, pitch underhand, and even call a player out if their ball bounces on the ground before it's caught! Fans have the opportunity to meet the players of the Essex Base Ball Association, the Newburyport Clamdiggers, Portsmouth Rockinghams, Lynn Live Oaks, and Lowell Base Ball Nine. The opening day games will be Lynn Live Oaks versus Portsmouth Rockinghams and Newburyport Clamdiggers versus Lowell Base Ball Nine.
Opening Day will take place at historic Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm, 5 Little's Lane in Newbury, MA with games beginning at 12pm. Admission is $5 for nonmembers of Historic New England. Tickets are available at
