Red Line Diversion - JFK/UMass Station - Quincy Center Station Saturday and Sunday June 1-2, 2013 June 8-9, 2013 Buses will replace Red Line trains between JFK/UMass and Quincy Center Stations during the weekends of June 1-2, 2013, and June 8-9, 2013, from start to end of service. The alternate bus service will make stops at all stations between JFK/UMass and Quincy Center Stations. Regular Red Line train service will resume at the start of service on Mondays. Accessibility: All shuttle bus stops are accessible for persons with disabilities. Why is this service change in place? This temporary service change is in place while MBTA crews perform work on the Columbia Junction Project.

Newburyport/Rockport Line Pilot Bike Program Effective Monday, May 13, 2013 A pilot program permitting bikes to be transported on peak period trains between specific stations will begin on Monday, May 13, 2013. Passengers with bikes must board at the mini-high platform. Passengers with bikes will get off the train first or as directed by a train crew member. Preference will always be given to wheelchair passengers. If there is not enough room for wheelchair passengers and passengers with bikes, the passengers with bikes will not be permitted to board the train with their bikes.  This pilot program will apply to the following stations: Rockport Line Bikes will be carried, as specified above, between Rockport, Gloucester, West Gloucester, Manchester, Beverly Farms, Prides Crossing, and Montserrat Stations. Inbound peak service trains: 104, 106, 108, and 110 No bikes will be allowed to go beyond Montserrat Station. Outbound peak service trains: 127, 129, 131, and 133 Newburyport Line Bikes will be carried, as specified above, between Newburyport, Rowley, Ipswich, Hamilton/Wenham, and North Beverly stations. Inbound peak service trains: 152, 154, 156, 158, and 162 No bikes will be allowed to go beyond North Beverly Station. Outbound peak service trains: 177, 181, 183, and 185

Fitchburg Line Track Outages Suspension of Weekend Service During the months of June through November 2013, there will be ongoing track projects on the Fitchburg Line. During the outages, weekend service will be suspended through the affected areas. Alternate bus service will not be provided. Weekend service will not be suspended on Fourth of July weekend (Saturday, July 6, and Sunday, July 7), and Labor Day weekend (Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1). On the weekend dates shown below, the track will be out-of-service between Fitchburg and South Acton, with no train service or alternate bus service at the following stations: Fitchburg, North Leominster, Shirley, Ayer, and Littleton/Rte 495. Trains will terminate and originate at South Acton. - June 1-2, 2013  - June 8-9, 2013  - June 15-16, 2013 - June 22-23, 2013  - June 29-30, 2013 - July 13-14, 2013  - July 20-21, 2013  - July 27-28, 2013  On the weekend dates shown below, the track will be out-of-service between Fitchburg and Brandeis/Roberts with no train service or alternate bus service at the following stations: Fitchburg, North Leominster, Shirley, Ayer, Littleton/Rte 495, South Acton, West Concord, Concord, Lincoln, and Kendall Green. Oak Grove Platform Rehabilitation May 2013 - September 2013 The Orange Line may experience some minor delays in service due to the Oak Grove Platform Rehabilitation Project. Please plan your travel arrangements accordingly. Orient Heights Temporary Station Closure March 23, 2013 - mid-October, 2013 Blue Line trains will bypass Orient Heights Station. For Blue Line service to and from Orient Heights Station: Substitute bus service will operate between Suffolk Downs and Orient Heights Stations. Customers desiring service to Orient Heights should exit the Blue Line at Suffolk Downs Station and board the shuttle bus in the Walley St. busway on the racetrack side of the station. Customers desiring service from Orient Heights should board the shuttle in the Bennington Street busway to connect to Blue Line service at Suffolk Downs. For Bus Route 712/713 (operated by Paul Revere) service to and from the Blue Line: Monday-Friday: Route 712/713 buses will travel between Winthrop and Wood Island Station. Exit the Blue Line at Wood Island to transfer to Route 712/713. Use the bus stops at Saratoga St. and St. Edwards Rd. for service to the Orient Heights area. Saturday-Sunday: Route 712/713 buses will travel between Winthrop and Airport Stations. Exit the Blue Line at Airport to transfer to Route 712/713. Use the bus stops at Saratoga St. and St. Edwards Rd. for service to the Orient Heights area. Bus Route 120 will continue to use the Bennington St. busway at Orient Heights Station. Parking: The parking area at Orient Heights will remain open. Pedestrian access will be via Saratoga Street only. Customers utilizing the Orient Heights Station parking lot will board the shuttle in the Bennington Street busway to connect to Blue Line service at Suffolk Downs. Outbound passengers who need to return to the parking lot at Orient Heights should exit the Blue Line at Suffolk Downs Station and board the shuttle bus in the Walley St. busway on the racetrack side of the station. Alternative parking is available at Beachmont and Wonderland. Ample parking is available at Wonderland Station on a daily basis. Accessibility:  All shuttle bus stops are accessible for persons with disabilities. Why is this service change in place? This temporary station closure is in place while MBTA crews conduct work on the Orient Heights Station Project, which includes the upgrade and rehabilitation of the station.
