The Buzz: Vince Vaughn interview

Actor Vince Vaughn says he grew tired of those typical romantic comedies.

So, he came up with the idea for the "The Break-Up." The movie tells the tale of two flawed people, determined to split, but each unwilling to move out.

Vaughn says his on-screen chemistry with actress Jennifer Aniston - fresh from her own break-up with Brad Pitt - is great.

"When we were developing the movie, she was really the only person we thought of," said Vaughn. "We wanted someone who's really great with comedy as well as being a very good actor."

Aniston and and Vaughn arrived at the movie premiere separately, but they have seen quite a bit of each other. Vaughn jokes he spent extra time on the set the day Aniston shot a nude scene for the movie. As for a real life romance however, Vaughn's not going there.

"I just have always seen myself since I've started as an actor," said Vaughn. "I do my best. I work had to try and make a good movie. I've never used the press in that way to and sell stuff or my personal life."

The film opens at Wrigley Field and an argument over ballpark franks.

Vaughn is a native of Chicago and a big Cubs fan. He says he and Matt Damon have pulled for a Sox-Cubs World Series. As for the reverse of the curse in '04?

"Being a Chicagoan and suffering through a lot of tough baseball seasons, I was really happy to see Boston win it," said Vaughn.
