7 Healthcast: Doctor: Ear infections on the decline
Doctors report nearly a 30 percent drop in ear infections over the past 15 years.
Harvard researchers think it is because fewer people are smoking. Smoking causes irritation to air passages, those between the nose and ears.
Other doctors think the drop is because of new vaccines against bacteria or increased breast feeding.
