7 Healthcast: Biggest Loser winner to attend Expo
Opera singer turned work out queen Olivia Ward is feeling fit and fine! She is this season's Biggest Loser and her younger sister, Hannah came in right behind her.
"For me it was 129 pounds and Hannah lost 120 [pounds]" said Olivia.
Olivia says she just finally got sick of being fat.
"I started out at 261 pounds and last summer I had one of those wakeup moments...that I was turning 35, and I didn't want live the rest of my life overweight, unhappy and unhealthy," said Olivia.
She dragged her sister to the auditions and the rest is history. But Olivia says none of it came easy - it was hard work!
"You work out every day, six hours plus - you have these long days. And I remember I'd go to bed at night and I'd be so tired...and so sore and the thought, ‘Oh my gosh. In eight hours I have to do this all over again.'" said Olivia. "But I have to say, once you started seeing results, the longer I was there...it just got more and more amazing every day."
Olivia says she has been given a gift, and learned so much. All she wants to do now is motivate others.
"Everyone has an inner athlete of some sort. You just have to find what you love and really tap into that," said Olivia. "I'm so excited to get out there, to meet the people who sat and watched and supported Hannah and I through our whole journey."
And she can't wait to be back in Boston.
"I have such a special place in my heart for Boston. Right after I got married my husband and I moved to Boston. I went to New England Conservatory...my husband went to Berkeley College Of Music...it was a really great time for us. We lived there for about three years. I'm really excited to come back and see the people of Boston," said Olivia.
