7 Healthcast: 'Biggest Loser' winner appears at Expo
Hundreds of people gathered to hear “The Biggest Loser” winner Olivia Ward, and runner-up, Hannah Curlee, share their weight-loss secrets Sunday at the Hynes Convention Center. The two say it's all about a good support system.
The dynamic duo says gatherings like the Health and Fitness Expo are a great place to start.
"It just promotes healthy living,” Ward said.
"It's a real inspiration just to come to these places and see all these people who want to get healthy,” said Curlee.
Olivia and Hannah say losing the weight wasn't easy and their goal now is to inspire people.
At the start of the show, Olivia weighed in at 261 lbs.; now she's down to 132 lbs.
Hannah started at 248 lbs. and now weighs 128 lbs.
Their message is: you can do it too.
"The most important thing to remember is baby steps in the beginning, you can't just bite off the entire kit and caboodle right off the beginning or its just completely over and you won't stick to it,” Ward said.
People in the crowd had dozens of questions for the pair; Olivia pointed out there's no "one size fits all weight loss plan."
Their secrets for continued success were to eat right, work out and stick with your support system.
Olivia and Hannah say they talk to their trainers from the show every day.
Olivia actually lived in Boston; she's an opera singer who studied at the New England Conservatory.
