Fresh from hoisting the Stanley Cup and parading through Boston, the Bruins enforcer was at the Pride Motors booth meeting fans, signing autographs and giving away pucks.
“It’s been quite a ride, the last 10 days or so,” Thornton said. “That parade was something to see, that’s for sure.”
He says thing are starting to sink in.
“I can’t walk around anywhere, the town is very enthusiastic about this happening so it’s good to see,” Thornton said.
Fans spent hours waiting to catch a glimpse and Thornton didn't disappoint.
“It was awesome,” said fan Jennifer Hayes. “I’m glad they won; he’s a sweet guy.”
Thornton said he was happy to spread a message about staying fit.
“I think it’s good for everybody…I think you’re happier when you’re in better shape,” said Thornton.
As for when Thornton gets his time with the Stanley Cup: the team is still working out the details.
