About 1 in 100 women get the wrong biopsy diagnosis and unnecessary cancer treatment because of mistakes that happen in the lab.

A new test aims to prevent those lab errors with a kit that contains materials to make sure the biopsy is really the patient’s information.

The test is covered by insurance. Women can ask for it if they need a biopsy.
