BOSTON (WHDH) -- A mother's depression could affect the growth of her children.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University studied the health of four and five year olds whose mothers showed signs of depression when they were babies.

They found the children were more than 40 percent more likely to be below the tenth percentile for height.

Experts said mothers who are depressed are less likely to breast-feed.
