Who doesn't want to look younger or just better? Now there's a new technology that's helping many women look brighter and more refreshed.

Like many women, 51-year-old Tricia Baylor wants to turn back the clock..

"To smooth things out, to get rid of the sun damage, and help with any wrinkles around the eyes," Tricia said.

So today, Tricia is having a portrait treatment. With each zap, dermatologist Jeffrey Dover delivers nitrogen plasma energy that works below the surface of Tricia's skin.

"The wrinkles get improved because the device helps to generate new collagen, so as this skin forms underneath, the new skin has brand new collagen," Dr. Dover said.

Rejuvenating the skin, so that old skin looks younger, and uneven skin appears smoother. Tricia's treatment takes about 30 minutes.

"The area that we've done, it's a little pink, [and] the brown spots are darker, that's a sign that they're going to respond," Dr. Dover said.

50-year-old Katherine Loeffler had her first plasma treatment done several weeks ago.

"I noticed seven days after the procedure that my neck where there was some severe acne scarring felt a lot smoother and noticed there was a lot under my chin and above my eyes that disappeared," Katherine said.

Katherine plans to have another plasma treatment in the coming months.

"it's easy for the patient, it's relatively comfortable, and the results are very impressive," Dr. Dover said.

The portrait plasma regeneration system is FDA approved and in addition to improving fine lines and wrinkles it can also help with acne scars and pre-cancerous lesions.

It's not cheap, most people need at least a few treatments and that can run several thousand dollars. Long-term improvements of the collagen in your skin continue for up to one year.
