"I think the thing to keep in mind is simple is safe. I think the biggest problems are the comforters and a pillow that kids could get strangulated with. I think also loose fitting cribs that aren't put together correctly or older cribs increase the risk of injury," said Dr. Michelle Day from MassGeneral Hospital for Children.
The CPSC also recommends that babies in cribs should lay on their backs. Doctors also warn that if you can fit two fingers between a crib's mattress and the side of the crib that it's too much space and could be dangerous to a baby.(Copyright 2008 Sunbeam Television.
