Forget the facelift, now there's the lifestyle lift. One doctor says the procedure will have you looking years younger in a very short amount of time.
Want younger-looking skin like the celebrities without major surgery? There's a new procedure called the lifestyle lift.
"I wanted a little more youthful appearance and I didn't want invasive surgery," 54-year-old Virginia Freeman is hoping for a tighter jaw line. "That was my main concern I think the jowl area and the droopiness."
Dr. Frank Fechner said his patients like Freeman are looking for results, not a long recovery.
"Patients just love that they can walk out just a half hour after done and recovery time is minimal," Dr. Fechner said.
Dr. Fechner starts out by marking a line along the ear where he'll make the incision, and then he numbs that area.
"A couple of little injections with a tiny, tiny needle not thicker than my hair and that numbs the area where we do the operation," Dr. Fechner said.
Dr. Fechner said after the tiny needles, Freeman wouldn't feel any pain. Because it's a local anesthetic, she's awake the entire time. Dr. Fechner makes an incision along the ear and pulls the skin back, getting rid of the droopy appearance.
"I'm going to put some deep underlying sutures that will hold layer of underlying muscle in place," Dr. Fechner said.
It takes just an hour to finish both sides.
Now it's time for Freeman's first look at her fresh face.
"I'm impressed and it hasn't even been an hour yet," Freeman said.
A 54-year-old woman who feels like several years melted away in a matter of minutes.
About an hour after the lifestyle lift Freeman went out to lunch with her daughter and was able to return to work in just a couple of days.
