UNDATED (WHDH) -- When it's time to get some shuteye, not all sleeping positions have the same positive impact on your body.
Researchers said while sleeping on your back is great for preventing neck and back pain; it can also make snoring worse.
Sleeping on your side also takes stress off your back, and an added bonus is that sleeping on your left side can reduce heartburn pain.
As for the cons - there aren't really any since the position follows the natural curvature of the spine.
Sleeping on your stomach can occasionally relieve lower back pain, but because it keeps your head turned to one side all night, it distorts the alignment of your spine and puts pressure on your nerves.
