Help Me Hank! Backyard playhouse

Help Me Hank: Help Me Hank! Backyard playhouse

Two little windows, a miniature door, even a tyke-size front porch. Christine Jacques knew it was the perfect playhouse for her young nephews.

Christine Jacques, playhouse owner
"I have great nephews, and I thought that they would love it."

Christine spotted it at a charity auction.

Christine Jacques, playhouse owner
"So I bid on it, and I won, and I paid them that evening."

Even better: the playhouse came with this delivery guarantee.

Christine Jacques, playhouse owner
"Delivered to the back yard."

Christine's brotherjak took down part of their fence, so workers could put the playhouse in its new backyard plot. The movers came, but the plot stayed empty.

Christine Jacques, playhouse owner
"Well, it's not where it's supposed to be."

Look where it is:

Christine Jacques, playhouse owner
"Right here on the driveway"

On the driveway? Where were they supposed to park? And can you imagine telling your nephew, "Go play in the driveway?" And there was no way Christine could move a whole house, even a kid’s house.

Christine Jacques, playhouse owner
"Well I tried to lift it, and I couldn't, and I think I'm pretty strong, but I couldn't lift it myself."

But Christine could lift the phone. She called the charity to explain her dilemma, but they only offered her money back.

Christine Jacques, playhouse owner
"I said, well I don't want my money back. I want what I paid for."

But they didn't budge and neither did the playhouse.

Christine Jacques, playhouse owner
"So I thought of ‘Help Me Hank.’"

It was all there in full color, delivered to your backyard.

So, we called the charity to get the playhouse placement corrected.

They agreed: a kid's playhouse doesn’t belong in the middle of a driveway.

Soon after, the playhouse disappeared from the pavement and reapplied in its proper backyard spot.

Now, Christine’s nephew, Tyler, and his brother, Noah, have all moved in to their "backyard" playhouse. And while little Tyler is too young to express his feelings, Christine does it for him.

Christine Jacques, playhouse owner
"I'm really thrilled. It's where it should be. It's meant to be there. It's a perfect spot for the kids, and they're thrilled too."

Christine was wise to keep all her paperwork, as you saw, that can often be a consumers best ammunition.
