Help Me Hank: Help Me Hank! Sweepstakes surprise

Sandy Bryan won this TV, this arbor and even $1,000. She has this binder full of winner notices. That's her hobby, playing sweepstakes.

"It keeps me busy. I enjoy it."

Some she enters by mail and some online. There, she fills out her name, address, phone number and e-mail address. Her ultimate goal is to win a car.

"I know somebody that's been entering them and has won 17 cars."

With all these winnings, Bryan gets a lot of mail. So when this brown box was delivered, she wasn't surprised.

"I was kind of excited I thought maybe I won something."

But when she opened it, she found a DVD and a bill for $5. What? Paperwork showed she joined a DVD movie club.

"The funny part is I don't even have a DVD player."

What's more mysterious? Why did she get that stuff?

"I just can't understand how anybody got all the information about me."

Bryan called the customer service number on the bill.

"I just wanted to explain that I never signed up for this."

She called and called, but she couldn't get through.

"It was so frustrating. I tried for days trying to reach somebody."

With no luck getting through to the company, she tried getting through to someone else.

"I said I've got to contact 'Help Me Hank!'"

Turns out one of her sweepstakes entries turned Bryan into a loser. We found she'd entered a contest just as always, but this time, she'd also clicked on a pop-up box. What Sandy didn't realize, that one click sent all her info to that movie club and meant she'd agreed to buy a bunch of DVDs!

"Hello, this is Hank Phillippi Ryan."

We called the club and explained Sandy would never have signed up on purpose. Remember, she can't even watch DVDs. Soon after, she received this letter of cancellation. And now, though she's still entering contests, she's not so quick to click.

"I'm going to be very careful about where I put my name."
