Help Me Hank! Hershey The Cat Update

Help Me Hank: Help Me Hank! Hershey The Cat Update

What could be cuter than a baby cat named Snickers? How about baby Skittles? Or Mike and Ike?

And you know these candy kittens’ mom. She's Hershey, the little brown mystery cat you met last July.

Je'nae Wright
"This is Hershey, and she's really a great cat, and she's just looking to find her owners."

As we reported, Je'nae had fed and sheltered Hershey after the stray showed up, but was moving and couldn't keep her.

The cat had a collar with her name, Hershey, a street address without a town and a phone number, but no area code. Where was her owner?

Je'nae Wright
"We called the police and animal control, and then my mom contacted you guys."

So, there’s bad news and good news.

The bad: we checked and checked and even put Hershey on TV, but alas, no response and Hershey was sent to the loving arms of the MSPCA. But we, and you, did not forget about her. We got tons of emails asking to adopt Hershey. So nice!

But here’s the good news: it turns out our Hershey was, um, expecting and spent her mommy prep time in a cozy foster home. And soon after, Snickers, Mike, Ike, Nestle, Willie Wonka and Skittles arrived on the scene.

Then, after careful consideration by the MSPCA:

Scott Giacoppo, MSPCA Spokesperson
"Hershey and all six of her kittens were adopted."

They've all been micro-chipped so none of them will ever get lost again.

But the story doesn't end here. We saw so many other kitties, all needing homes, and like Hershey, each has a story of its own.

Scott Giacoppo, MSPCA Spokesperson
"We're just hoping the right person walks through the door."

So maybe Hershey’s legacy will be to help those cats find new families too.

Scott Giacoppo, MSPCA Spokesperson
"We guarantee there will be an animal there you will fall in love with."

So many cats are available throughout the state just waiting for a new home. Check the link below to find out how you can adopt or foster a kitty in need.
