The Hiller Instinct: 7News/Suffolk Poll: Decision '04
After 400 phone calls to likely democratic primary voters all day and night here, our election eve poll predicts John Kerry will win big tomorrow; Howard Dean will be the runner-up, and there's a three-way tie for third, which undecided voters will un-tie.
Here are the numbers: Kerry with 37 percent nearly doubles Dean's 19 percent and undecided at 20 percent. In a three-way tie for third, Wesley Clark, John Edwards and Joe Lieberman, all with 8 percent in our exclusive poll.
We can also show you how the candidates moved up and down today and see which democrats will have some wind behind them, and which may run into it tomorrow.
The daily difference shows Kerry minus one, Dean plus two and undecided also up two percentage points.
If you want to try to handicap the bronze medal, Clark is down two today, Edwards is off one point and Lieberman is plus three.
If these numbers hold up, there will be several big stories in New Hampshire tomorrow: the banner headline may be "Kerry Crushes Dean's White House Hopes." But others could be "Clark Comes Back," "Edwards Survives," or "Lieberman Has Joe-mentum!" It’s all up to the undecideds and, tomorrow, they will decide.
