The Hiller Instinct: Mitt Romney Interview
And he has a new book that will give him an excuse to go to Iowa and every other key political state.
But Romney says his book is so straight-forward it probably won't help him win many votes:
“It may be that I'm unelectable--I may be unelectable anyway--but in part because of the book," Romney said.
Interestingly, Romney can see the future in the State House, but not in the White House:
Hiller: "Who's the next governor of Massachusetts?”
Romney: "Charlie Baker.”
Hilller: “Who's the next president?”
Romney: “It's going to be a Republican in my opinion.”
And Romney says it could be Sarah Palin.
Romney: "Oh, sure, and she's brought great energy and passion to the Republican Party," Romney said.
Hiller: "If she got the nomination, would you be her running mate?"
Romney: "(laughs) I think that's a little speculative, so I'm not planning on either one of those events at this stage."
Hiller "So that's not a no."
Romney: "It's a who the heck knows at this stage?"
The always smooth former governor did slip up on a pop culture question about "Twilight."
He claimed to be big fan of the vampire books after meeting Robert Pattinson, who was in the movie.
Hiller: "Are you a fan of Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Romney: "Team Jacob, of course...I thought you were in the political world there. No we're in the world of LOST, of course. How can you be for Edward? I'm for...now I haven't seen the latest shows..."
Hiller: "Team Edward or Team Jacob. Isn't that from the vampire series?
Romney: "OK. I was thinking of the LOST series. Yeah, you're right. Jacob is the uh, um...have you watched LOST?”
I have watched LOST...and I've also watched Mitt Romney. And what I wonder is whether they're both in their last season...whether Mitt Romney's time has come...and gone.
I’m Andy Hiller, and that’s my instinct.
