Huddle at Home: Matt and Susie Light

Patriots' offensive tackle Matt Light is a man of many talents. A star on the gridiron, he's also a star when it comes to being a husband and a dad.

"So Matt, everyone knows what you do on the field, can you tell us a little bit about the things you like to do when you're not on the field?"

Matt Light
"We like to get the kids on the four-wheelers and we have a little bit of a wooded area around the house so we like to ride, we have a little trail."

Matt and his wife Susie have been married for six years. They met in college.

"Can you tell us a little bit about how y'all first started dating."

Susie Light
"My mom was in town and Matt came in and went up to her and said 'Hi! I'm Matt Light, and I'm going to marry your daughter' and she said, ‘Stand in line buddy and walked away.'"

But Matt didn't give up, and says it's the best decision he ever made!

"I would probably be naked, homeless, and very hungry and very unhappy if she wasn't around. I would be lost completely."

The couple has three children.

"We have a five year old, and a two year old and a very young nine month old?"

Susie Light
"Eight month old..."

Matt Light
"Yeah see I lose track, we had camp, I lost a month there and added one on."

Susie says watching her husband on game-day can be tough.

"To watch your husband fall down and scream and not get up off the football field..."

Matt Light
"I never scream ever."

Besides spending time with his family Matt also works on his charity, the Light Foundation.

"For us it was very important to give back and we really enjoy working with kids and developing programs and hosting events."

But that's not all...

"What is something people might not expect or know about you?"

Matt Light
"When I was growing up I grew up in a very musical family. I got into show choir. It involved singing and dancing."

Something Susie gets a big kick out of.

"Show them your jazz hands."

Matt Light
"She loves this, that's why she married me actually."

In next week's huddle at home we'll be hanging out in the backyard with defensive lineman Ty Warren and his family.
