More Bang for Your Buck: Travel Insurance
If you're "foggy" about what travel insurance really does... Ask someone who refuses to leave port without it!
Dianne Franks, Bought Travel Insurance
"Murphy's law usually comes into play. If it can happen, it generally does happen."
Dianne Franks is headed out on a cruise next month and is glad to pay the extra.

"I wanted to make sure that if one of the two of us became ill or we miss the ship, that we could be flown home and taken of."
Most people don't know if you do become ill and need to be flown off the ship, that helicopter ride can cost $10,000! And the cruise ship doesn't pay for it!
Rhonda Cameron, Travel Group
"If you're on a cruise ship and you have a heart attack, you didn't purchase insurance, if you can't have a family member or someone write a check on the spot for them to evacuate you off the ship, they make you wait until they get to the next port."
But with a $50 policy, which could cost more depending on the trip, nearly everything is covered... Medical evacuation, medical expenses, and full reimbursement if your trip is delayed, canceled or interrupted.
Rhonda Cameron
"Travel is an investment, and you don't want to spend all that money and have to cancel your trip and lose it!"
The only thing Dianne Franks wants to lose is herself... In the big blue ocean!

"Aaah! You get to get away from the world... and it's such a cleansing experience for me."
Travel agents recommend you buy "third party" travel insurance that doesn't have direct business ties to a specific cruise ship or airline. That way, if a trip is cancelled because a cruise line is having financial problems, you'll still be covered in an emergency.
