Our third-place winner is never a drag… Fran's Place in Lynn is an alternative lifestyle club that features lively music, pool tables, even female impersonation shows.
Tish Sterling, Fran's Place
"The third Thursday of every month is an oldies night where we play music from the 70's and 80's."
While the club definitely caters to a mostly gay crowd, the managers at Fran's say everyone is welcome.

"You could be a straight couple, you could come in a chicken suit, we wouldn't care. We welcome everybody. We just want everybody to feel comfortable and have a good time."
You'll have a "ball" at our second place winner, the Roxy Nightclub in Boston. On weekends this turn of the century ballroom is transformed into a hopping hot spot.
Micheal Breen, The Roxy
"We have smoke, the laser lights going, the sound system is incredible and it just creates a great party atmosphere."
On Fridays DJ’s spin hip hop, on Saturdays it's techno and house tunes for a crowd of over 1,300.
Micheal Breen, The Roxy
"We have been here for about 16 years and we've gone through all different styles of music. Right now, this is what's hot."
After a ball game, you can "electric slide" yourself over to our first place winner. Avalon nightclub on Landsdown Street in Boston is a beat above the rest.
Fedor Banuchi, Avalon
"Avalon's the city's largest club. It also has the city's largest sound system, largest light show and we typically bring in the largest acts in the country."
This super club boasts guest DJ’s from around the world and has a big enough dance floor for thousands of club-goers to get their groove on.
