Like any parents, Marc and Jennifer want the best for their 18-month-old daughter Sophia.

And when the family recently moved, they realized, when it came to finding quality childcare, they were flying blind.

Care.com says the site goes far beyond what online classifieds provide.

"We also offer free background checks on these providers through Lexus Nexus, whether we check the criminal records, the sexual offender data base, social security verification."

But be aware, not everyone on the site agrees to a background check, so you need to look for the special symbol.

The site also allows you to listen to pre-recorded evaluations of the childcare provider from previous employers.

Marc and Jennifer found they had several sitters to choose from.

"On average, when you post a job you get six responses."

The site costs $25 a month. Mark and Jennifer say it's a small price to pay to know their daughter is safe.
