Halloween

Parent to Parent: Halloween

Halloween is always a celebration, but it doesn't have to cost parents an arm and a leg. Style guru Matthew Mead says you can have tasty treats for cheap and you don't have to be Martha Stewart to pull it off!

Matthew Mead, author
"It's all really easy to make, fun simple things that even the kids can do so what I say is gather the family and get some supplies from your fridge and make some fun Halloween things."

The kids love getting in on the action--

How about these delectable spider treats--

All you need is some pretzel sticks and a ding dong--add the pretzels for legs and use food glue to put on the eyes.

Or this scrumptious and easy to make snack mix using cereal--

To make, mix in M&M's, peanut butter, cereal, waffle pretzels and caramel corn--

And most of the things that can be made can be done using stuff you already have around the house

Like these muffin top ghosts--just attach eyes to a muffin cup or coffee filter and add a string for a spooky decoration.

Even these carrots can be transformed into pumpkin-like candlesticks.

And that's good news for moms like Cathy.

Cathy Warshaver, mom
"You don't even have to leave the house, and you don't have to spend any money. A little glue a little chocolate, some vegetables and you're all set."

A sure fire way to ensure a "spooktacular" Halloween this season without having to break the bank.
