Protecting Your Pet: Saber Alert
Mary Hollstein, Saber's owner
"He's just another child as far as I'm concerned."
So when he went missing, his family was a wreck.

"I couldn't sleep for two nights not knowing where he was."
But they had a special weapon to help them track down their beloved German Sheppard.
Deni Michele Goldman, Animal Control Officer, Town of Hull
"Within a couple minutes I sent out an emergency notification alert and it went out to about 200 animal control officers and other affiliates."
A new state-wide emergency alert for dogs works like the Amber Alert for missing children, but in addition to tracking down missing dogs, the alert system can also match up dogs that are found with no identification.
For Saber, it was a lifesaver. Animal control officers recognized him on the alert and were able to get him home.

"He's part of our family and I'm overjoyed that he's back here with us."
It was such a success; the new system that helped reunite him with his family got a special name, the ‘Saber Alert.'
The Saber Alert is used on dogs that have been missing for more than 48 hours, as well as dogs that are found and no owner has claimed after 48 hours.
If you would like more information on the Saber Alert contact your local animal control office.
