Protecting Your Pet: Doggy webcams

Posted: 01/14/08
It's a daily routine for many pet owners; dropping your dog off at daycare. But after you say goodbye to your pooch, have you ever wondered what goes on when you're gone?

Now you can satisfy your curiosity and snoop on your pet from your computer. Many doggy daycares offer surveillance cameras to let owners spy on their pets any time of the day or night.

Rob Galeski, DoggieDay Play Center
"They can log on remotely from work, vacation, from their home if they're working from home."

All you have to do is log onto the daycare's website and click on the webcam. Boujie's owner says she uses the service to check on her pooch while she's at work.

Kate Bailey Roeser, pet owner
"For me it's nice to know I can see how she's being treated, I can see how attentive they are with her, I can see if she's mingling with the other dogs well."

Rob Galeski, DoggieDay Play Center
"It just gives them a lot of peace of mind, they can watch their dog in real time while they're at the play center knowing they're being cared for properly."

And for Boujie's owner that's the best part.

Kate Bailey Roeser, pet owner
"To be able to watch her and to be able to know she's safe, that means a lot to us, because she is part of our family, and of course we want to give her everything we can, and this is just an added bonus for us to be able to see she's happy, and she's happy."
