Room For Improvement: Twin bedrooms

Our design team sees double when they tackle a pair of twins' messy bedrooms. But what will the boys think?

We've got twin boys, two rooms and two professionals to help us out on this one. This is the room where Marc parks his stuff.

Marion Buyer, homeowner
"Marc's room is a big, giant mess."

Across the hall is Eric's room. It hasn't changed in years.

Marion Buyer, homeowner
"Eric has a lot of things, from when he was small."

While the boys are at school, Mom's ready to play.

Marion Buyer, homeowner
"I would like to see some type of organization put in there, some shelves or drawers or places to put things."

"Room For Improvement" designer Kristin Sullivan and organizer Heidi Solomon are excited to get these rooms ready for the teens.

First, Marc's room gets a makeover.

Kristin Sullivan, Portfauxlio Room Decor
"Working with Marc, we found he loves more of a tech feel. He loves 'shinny.'"

So, "shinny" it is.

Extra shelving is added to the walls and so is a retro clock.

Marc loves to take things apart and put them back together again. So, a desk area is set up, complete with a cool, chrome organizer.

Both boys' closets weren't cutting it, so brand new built-ins make a huge difference.

Heidi Solomon, P.O.S.H. Consulting
"We decided to do a hard closet install that would give them more shelving and more drawers, which are features that are easy for teenage boys to use."

In Eric's room, a green color is put on the walls. He loves scouting and the outdoors.

Cork boards help create the look of wood on the walls, and fun, dragonfly lights are put up high. When it comes to displaying Eric's keepsakes…

Kristin Sullivan, Portfauxlio Room Décor
"We did a little area for scouting. We have all his precious medals hanging that he's won and a couple of photos."

So Mom, how did we do?

Marion Buyer, homeowner
"This is unbelievable. This is absolutely amazing."

And in room two?

Marion Buyer, homeowner
"This is another incredible job."

The total cost for these two rooms is under $10,000. Mom could not wait to surprise her teens with their new rooms. She told us they gave them two thumbs up.
