Room For Improvement: Family front porch
An enclosed porch can have many different uses. So when one family wants to make theirs the perfect spot for together time, our design team gives them just what they're looking for. 7's Lauren Przybyl has today's "Room For Improvement."
The Finn family loves to have fun together, but that never happens on their front porch.

"We never really used it. Used it for storage. That's about it."
But they'd like to use that outdoor room for more!

To liven up the porch even more, a light is hung overhead.
A fresh coat of color gives some old furniture new life and a clever idea for curtains helps the family stay within their budget.

"We really got creative and were able to take two shower curtains, which matched some of the pillows, and turn them into window treatments."
Fragrant flowers and lots of greenery keep with the outdoor theme. Then purple accents add a burst of complimentary color.

"The homeowners love the color purple, so we were able to interject the purple in here to play off the greens. Greens and purples go very well together."
One corner becomes a reading nook, and the other becomes a place where the family can play games together, complete with some treats for the kids!
