Room For Improvement reports

It's time to create a soothing sanctuary in Belmont. And our design team is using an ancient Chinese practice to achieve the goal. 7’s Lauren Przybyl has today's "Room For Improvement."

This bedroom in Belmont needs a boost.

Louise Weber, homeowner
"Although we've been working on the rest of the house and painting and decorating a bit, that room has been completely neglected."

Homeowner Louise Weber says she and her husband need a place to escape to.

Louise Weber, homeowner
"We're both very busy and we have two kids and it would be so nice to be able to come home and have a retreat that we can go to and a place to rest."

Designer Eeta Sachon is here to make this room serene using feng shui.

First, the white walls have got to go.

"We found this beautiful silver sage paint and that became the inspiration for the other colors in the room."

This room's ceiling won't be boring white either. A little bit of the wall color was added to the ceiling paint by a company called Just Right Painting.

Chris Fillios, Just Right Painting
"We actually tinted the paint on the ceiling which really brought out the color on the wall."

When it comes to setting up this space, placement is everything. It's all part of feng shui, an ancient Chinese practice that helps achieve harmony in an environment.

"When the energy is flowing easily in your room, you feel better, you have more energy, you sleep better."

For comfort, a mirror is laid directly across from the bed.

"Having the mirror here creates ease because the people can always see the doorway when they're lying in bed."

A lot of greenery throughout the bedroom gives energy. And even the bed side tables have a purpose.

"It's important to have two bed side tables that are the same size so there is a balance of power between partners."

Crisp white linens are added for freshness, along with a fountain right next to the door.

"Having a waterfall at an entrance is a wonderful feng shui cure to create energy in a room."

This master suite is now serene, just ask our homeowner.

Louise Weber, homeowner
"Wow. This is beautiful, so peaceful. I love it."

Celebrities like Donald Trump and Prince Charles have also used feng shui to decorate their rooms just like our homeowner here. This peaceful place cost $1400 to re-do.
