Room For Improvement reports

A small bedroom can be a tight squeeze, but that doesn't mean it can't work with all of your stuff and still look stylish. So tonight our design team is helping one homeowner get storage and sophistication in a very small space. 7's Lauren Przybyl has this week's "Room For Improvement."

Room For Improvement designer Martin Amado arrives to help a new homeowner beautify her bedroom.

Martin Amado, Designer
"So you have storage issues, and, at the end, you want it to be a stylish space as well, correct?"

Gloria, Homeowner
"Yes, a beautiful place."

Martin Amado, Designer
"Awesome, I'm going to work on that for you and make it happen. So the goal for today is to give this bedroom a more modern and sophisticated style and bring in additional furniture pieces that can offer Gloria more storage as well."

In comes a new upholstered headboard and curtains help shield the sun.

Martin Amado, Designer
"Alright, so before we make the bed with this bed-in-a-bag set, which saves on the budget, obviously, let's go ahead and give this tired and sort of hard mattress a more luxurious softer feel. We're going to do that with this featherbed. Now, whenever do this, it does increase the thickness of the mattress, so make sure you buy sheets that have deep-fitted corners."

After the fresh bedding comes some sleek side tables.

Martin Amado, Designer
"So now this storage chest acts as a night stand for Gloria and additional storage space for all of her kids' toys as well."

A big armoire adds some storage space and the TV fits perfect.

Martin Amado, Designer
"So now with these plastic and clear containers, we can organize toys or DVDs inside the armoire and use a larger container to store clothes underneath the bed."

Gloria, Homeowner
"Wow, Martin. It's beautiful. I love the colors. I didn't know you could make this room look like this."

Martin Amado, Designer
"You actually have furniture now, Gloria."

Gloria, Homeowner
"Yes, I do."

Martin Amado, Designer
"Are you going to let your kids come in the bedroom?"

Gloria, Homeowner
"No more. This is all me."

Gloria is one lucky lady. This bedroom re-do cost about $800.
