Free gas

Special Report: Free gas

A California company, called www.freegashelp.com , is connecting commuters with advertisers.

Mel Jacob - Freegashelp.com
"We give consumers free gas cards in exchange for advertisements on their vehicles."

The ads can go on your window, your hood, your door or tailgate

And in exchange for the space, the company pays in a gas card, ranging from $5 to $200 dollars.

Mel Jacob - Freegashelp.com
"I need to know where you generally drive, what freeways, and where you work, and the reason I want to know where you work is definitely I don't want to advertise your competition on your car."

Before you can go full speed ahead, wait for the green light.

In other words, you have to be selected.

Potential advertisers will make their decisions based on your vehicle's looks and your driving habits.

Mel Jacob - Freegashelp.com
"We actually give additional percentage if they're an active military, if the car is bright yellow, if the car is a scion, if it's a pt cruiser, is a vw beetle."

At the end of March, a promotional event will be held in the Boston area.

It's kind of a job interview...pictures will be taken of cars and applications filled out.

Only 75 drivers can attend…so speed on over to www.freegashelp.com

You can't choose the ads that go on your car, but you can turn one down. For example, a teacher wouldn't want to drive around with a beer ad on their car.
