Special Report: Walpole bakery makes Prince William's cake

"It's William's favorite and this is one of the only cakes that wasn't served every single tea service - only when William was visiting," said Steve Butters.

The Butter Cafe and Bakery in Walpole is sharing the secret recipe with 7NEWS.

"The cool thing about this cake is it's not that difficult - anyone can make it," said Steve Butters.

Owner and Chef Steve Butters showed NEWS just how easy this royal treat is to prepare.

"Prince William likes a lot of chocolate. Kate - not so sure," said Butters.

People 7NEWS talked to that sampled the couple's wedding confection liked it.

"It's delicious," said Susan Mandeville. "I can't say I've had anything really like it before."

"Oh, it's delicious. Definitely a cake for a chocolate lover," said Andrew Martino.
