But now there's a new way for tech savvy people to make instant connections. It is called "dodgeballing," and it lets users keep tabs on everything from their friends to the hottest clubs, even their newest crushes.

Created by Massachusetts’s whiz kid Dennis Crowley, Dodgeball.com allows friends to automatically bounce text messages back and forth when they are out and about.

"Whenever you're doing something interesting, you just let dodgeball know and then dodgeball will tell all your friends what you're up to."

You sign up free online, then invite your friends to join. Next, hit the town and send a text to dodgeball with where you are. Then they do all the rest, blasting out messages to all your friends.

And it works both ways. You'll also get text messages telling you where your friends are and even the address sent right to your phone. And it will alert you immediately if a new friend is partying within 10 blocks of where you are.

Dodgeball is also a whole new way to online date. It has a crush alert.

"You can go through and pick out people that you think are pretty cute. You can have up to five of these crushes, and then if one of those crushes happens to be near by when you check in, then we'll also alert the people."

Your crush gets sent a text with your picture and location. Then, they decide if they want to stop in and say hi.

So if you want to be a hi-tech player and get into the game, grab your cell phone and start dodgeballing.
