Special Report: Holiday hair

Tis the season to let your hair down.. or put it up...

William George, owner of James Joseph Salon says this is the time of year to get creative...

Look number one...for those with long hair, stylist Seth Selman suggests the timeless beauty of a Chingon.

"Something low and off the side...nice elegant twist on ponytail."

Use lots of hairspray to smooth out any bumps...then weave in the bobby pins.

Then simply wrap the hair around, securing with more pins and a final spray.

"An elegant evening look, with a couple of bobby pins."

If you want to keep your hair down...this holiday season it's all about playful, flirty curls....

"Up do's not your thing, loose soft curls are all the rage...all the celebs doing it, loose, very sexy. I’m gonna do this using big sections...very easy to do at home."

Keep hair in the middle of the iron...not too close to the roots or the ends.

When the whole head is curled...time to mess it up!

Basically I make my hands like rakes and go through and really break things up.

A bit more spray and your soft, subtle curls are ready to go.

And for those with shorter hair who still want a little seasonal style-- try the "half up".... A lot of celebs use half up styles...off your face...look elegant

Using your natural wave, get creative...

It looks nice, lifting back...start to use pins to secure hair...leave some out around side and shoulders.

Work side to side instead of all one area at once, picking sections and keeping things loose.

A few more pins and the look is complete.
