"Black pants, black shoes, my black sweater which I call the rug," Murphy said.

And Kathleen Patton of Westwood never dresses up for dates with her husband anymore.

"Nowadays I usually wear whatever I was wearing when he came home," Patton said.

But thanks to makeover divas and authors Elycia and Rita, today Nancy and Kathleen are ready to go from frumpy to foxy.

"Can't wait to foxify you," Elycia said.

We set Elycia and Rita loose in Bloomingdales where they rummaged through the racks.

Their foxy tip #1: You don't have to spend a lot to pull together a look.

"It just requires creativity and the right tips," Rita said.

First, pick simple items that go together to achieve more clothing combos.

"She could wear ten different tops with this skirt, ten different pairs of shoes, ten different bags and she's got ten different looks," Rita said.

Then pick clothes that flatter. For Nancy, that means ditching the oversized sweater and choosing fitted alternatives instead.

"We went with these pants that have a little bit of stretch in them, they have a very straight line and they get wide at the bottom so they're very slimming," Rita said.

There will be no jeans and T-shirts allowed on Kathleen's date. The authors say a foxy girl dresses up when going out.

"Beautiful color, sexy skirt, great open toed shoes," Elycia said.

Now time for the right finishing touches, which can really make an outfit pop.

"Accesorizing is key, adding bangles, open toe shoes, a clutch and earrings," Elycia said.

And lastly, hair and makeup, which should stay simple and not look overdone.

"The final touch is this amazing and foxy bourgeois lip gloss," Elycia said.

Using tips from the book, Kathleen and Nancy are transformed in less than 15 minutes, and they say they love their new looks.

"You are foxified! How do you feel?" Elycia said.

"I feel great!" Kathleen said.
