Erika Turmine of Stoneham wanted a breast lift; her younger sister Danielle hoped for liposuction. Their mother, aunt and grandmother also wanted cosmetic surgery to improve their image and their self-esteem

After a long conversation the five women decided that if they were going have work done, they were going to do it as a team.

"I think we felt very secure doing it all together each one of us felt a little supportive by the other."

The women all had various procedures done over a one-week period by the same Boston surgeon.

Dr. Sheldon Sevinor says he wasn't surprised when asked to operate on a whole family, he even thinks the process helped the women in recovery

"They were in the hospital together, they shared rooms together. I’d come up to the hospital and I would see them all congregated in grandma’s room. They were all having a great time together, it was like family party time."

It was a bonding experience for the five ladies - all of whom say they couldn't have done it without the support from each other.

Body image experts that we spoke to about this trend weren’t concerned, however they caution - before you go through with a procedure that you really make sure its the right decision for you, not for your family.
