Special Report: Local Figure Skater Ready For Her Close-Up In Disney’s "Ice Princess"
With Olympic dreams, figure skating has always been Juliana Cannarozzo's only number one, until Hollywood came calling.
"It's amazing, so overwheming," Juliana said.
Juliana is on the rink practicing at least 3 hours a day, she'd never been on a set, or read a script, until she got the part after open auditions here in Boston.
"We were like screaming and jumping," Juliana’s mother Joanne Cannarozzo said. "Oh my god, I was so excited, I just couldn't believe it, I couldn't believe it."
So the 15-year-old packed up her skates and headed to Toronto to make this Disney film.
During three months of shooting, she lived the glam life, she sat in her own actors chair, pros did her hair and make up everyday, and she got to be on a first name basis with some big Hollywood names.
"Michelle Tractenter, she's the main actor, Joan and Kim," Juliana said.
To you and me, they're Joan Cusak and Kim Catrall.
Coaches’ say Juliana is a natural on the ice, and it seems acting comes pretty naturally too.
