Special Report: Spring Travel Bargains
Are the tropics calling? Got Mickey on your mind? The hottest vacation destinations may be filling up - - but there are still bargains waiting to be booked.
"Don’t wait a minute," says Mark Benezia of Vacation Outlet. "The sooner you call and make a reservation the better you will be."
Benezia says the whole family will enjoy a trip to San Diego. "You can experience Legoland and the San Diego Zoo, a great family resort is only $599 per person for five nights."
Another vacation value south of the border is Cancun, Mexico. Doug Frank of TNT Vacations says the college kids are gone and now its time for families to have some fun in the sun. "People think of it as a spring break thing and, you know, teenagers running around, but especially in April, college spring break is over and they have beautiful hotels," Frank said.
He says for about a thousand dollars a person, a family of four can stay at an all-inclusive resort and experience everything this Mexican hot spot has to offer. "They have the swim with the dolphins, they have a huge water park in Cancun, you can go see the ruins, the Mayan ruins, so there are tons of things to do!"
Can't sit still in one place? You may want to consider boarding a boat. This season, cruise lines are sinking prices! "There are great deals on cruises. For as low as $500 to $600, you can take a 7 night Caribbean or Celebration cruise," Frank said.
If you don’t have sea legs, a family best buy is always Orlando, Florida. "If you still want to get to Orlando, we can get you to the Vistana Resort in Orlando for about $700 per person including airfare and hotel for 5 nights."
Experts suggest to save money, book your vacation as a package, and remember travel websites often have last minute deals as well.
