Special Report: Martinis And Manicures

Every Tuesday and Wednesday it's martinis and manicures night at the Opal Lounge in downtown Boston.

"We thought it would be something fun, something different," Bryan Huck of the Opal Lounge said. "There are no happy hours in Boston so we thought we would invent our own."

The Opal Lounge teamed up with Galaxy Nails a few weeks ago for this "cutting" edge plan.

"We thought what better than get our nails done and have a drink," Joan Fusco of Somerville said,

But make no mistake about it, this is not just for the ladies.

Plenty of guys are not ashamed to be ‘buffed.’

"It's very metrosexual, which is very cool right now," Joshua Burke said.

Women and men from ages 21-50 love the idea of having one hand being filed while the other holds a drink.

The bar gets so packed, they're now taking reservations.

"I know a lot of people compare it to a ‘Sex & The City’ sort of thing," Fusco said.

The price is $12 for a martini and a manicure, and it's every Tuesday and Wednesday from 5-9pm.

And there are other theme nights in the works, including book club night and a night of psychic readings.

Since the opal lounge gets really packed, it's a good idea to call a couple days ahead and make a reservation for a manicure.
