That Makes Cents: Old gadgets = new green

There are stores and websites that will buy your used electronics. Things like iPods, game consoles, cell phones, digital cameras, computers, even fax machines can be sold for cash. And it's ok if they're damaged.

The process is simple. It's mostly done online. You answer questions about the item and get an estimate of its value. They base the estimate on the gadget's condition and a percentage of the original price.

Then it's your choice to accept the offer. If you do, most places will send you a prepaid shipping label to mail in your used item.

But be sure to do your research, retailers have competing prices so check out a few sites to make sure you're getting the highest bid.

Now that makes cents.
