That Makes Cents: Driving tips

Don't put the pedal to the metal. The faster you drive, the more gas you burn. By staying within the limits you could save an average of 56 cents a gallon.

Try to stop that "stop and go" driving. It will only lower your gas mileage. Hitting the gas and the brake hard, repeatedly, can cost you an average of 73 cents a gallon.

And here's good news, using the AC on the highway may actually save you money. Having your windows down while you're cruising, creates a drag and that forces your car to work harder and burn more gas. So roll up those windows, and hit the highway!

Now that makes cents.
