Chocolate Dipped Bananas

We're sprinkling on the colors of the holiday! Dylan Dreyer will show you how to make this patriotic frozen treat, in the Dish!

The Dish: Chocolate Dipped Bananas
The Restaurant: Daddy’s Dairy (Stoughton, Mass.)
The Chef: Traci Segal

Ingredients:

-Melted chocolate
-sprinkles or topping of your choice. (July 4th theme)
-5 inch round/pointed sticks
-treat bags to wrap

Recipe:

Peel ripe bananas and stick a 4" dowel into the bottom end. Freeze the bananas for at least an hour until they're frozen solid. Melt your favorite chocolate in a double boiler, or microwave, whichever is easier. Quickly dip the bananas in the melted chocolate, letting the excess chocolate run off the banana. Quickly dip into red, white, and blue mixed sprinkles. (for the flag look, place red sprinkles, white sprinkles, and blue sprinkles in stripes in a pan and carefully lay each side of the chocolate covered banana into the sprinkles to make it red, white, and blue striped.) Either eat or refreeze for up to 2 weeks.
