Dip the sliced bread into the batter mixture (a tong holds the bread in place and allows the bread to be immersed in the batter for 20-30 seconds). Place the battered bread on a buttered griddle (about 350 degrees or in a large frying pan , medium heat, prepared with a small amount of butter). Give the toast 3 minutes to cook on each side.
