Apple to release mini iPad

UNDATED (WHDH) -- this morning- we're learning more about a "small debut" that may be in store for apple.

Several sources claimed Apple will unveil the mini iPad on October 17. Invitations for the event will likely go out October 10.

The new model will have a smaller screen and cost less.

Look for it to hit shelves November 2nd.

Apple has not commented on the reports.

The electronics giant recently released the iPhone 5.

More than 5 million iPhone 5's were sold in its first weekend.
