Starbucks tells dog daycare 'Starbarks' to change name
ALGONQUIN, Ill. (WHDH) -- A suburban Chicago doggie daycare is in a legal dogfight with the country's biggest coffee chain.
Starbucks, isn't too happy with "Star-barks” and the small business may have to change their name.
It’s logo and name bears a striking resemblance to the coffee chain, but what it does is nowhere near the same.
“The letter we received, it says it will confuse consumers,” said Al Grzybek, co-owner of Starbarks Dog Daycare.
“They’re not suing us but they're asking us nicely to stop using our logo, stop using the name, stop using your website,” said Andrea McCarthy-Grzybek, co-owner of Starbarks Dog Daycare
Starbucks said the "Star-barks" business name and logo, infringes on their company brand.
The owners said they went for years without ever hearing from Starbucks.
