Stop and Shop hiring new workers as strike looms

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Stop and Shop hired new workers as current ones threatened to strike.
The store brought in temporary workers in preparation for a potential labor strike or lockout that could happen in February.
They set up multiple hiring sites around the state as they continue contract negotiations with union leaders.
Their 3 year contract is up this month. The store said the hiring is not a reflection on how the talks are going.
