Reser's expands recall of food products
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Alaska environmental regulators say Reser's Fine Foods has expanded a recall of refrigerated, ready-to-eat products that are available in the state.
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation says the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Listeria can cause fever, nausea, severe headache, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Officials say it can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and people with weak immune systems.
According to the DEC, recalled Reser's products include salads, salsas, spreads, dips and baked beans.
Officials say no illnesses have been reported in the state or elsewhere.
