HMS Cricket Robotics Team - Hanover Middle School
HMS Cricket Robotics Team from Hanover Middle School
I am nominating seven students at Hanover Middle School who are involved with the after school Robotics enrichment program. The students have committed to 1.5 hours each week from April 3 thru May 29th on Wednesday to work on constructing a scaled model stadium, C-level programming and assembling various Cricket Robot parts provided by UMass Lowell as part of their Botfest exhibition program (see http://botfest.wiki.uml.edu/). The goal of the HMS Cricket robot is to follow various color lines based on a maze like structure within the stadium and where several C programs that the students have developed will enable the tracking and then return the Cricket to its home base.
Instead of being part of the majority of students here at HMS that focus a majority of their free time with athletics after school, these students are rounding and grounding themselves in becoming outstanding high school and college students through enrichment programs like Cricket robotics.
