D-R Falcons Marching Band -- Dighton Rehoboth Regional HS
Dighton-Rehoboth Falcons Marching Band
I am nominating the entire Dighton-Rehoboth Falcons Marching Band as a WHDH Class Act. Their emblem includes the phrase “Power, Pride and Passion” and is evident in everything these young members of our community do. One-hundred-fifty members strong, they are comprised of 6th through 12th graders in the Dighton and Rehoboth school district and are led by Drum Major Miss Keara Enos. They are under the direction of Mr. Douglas Kelley, who has been band director for over 20 years. Their activities begin in late August and continue through the entire school year with appearances in football and other sporting events, parades and concerts. These children, beginning at age 11, represent the best things our community stands for. Whether it is holding Homework Help night, with older band members mentoring younger members, performing at Disney World or hosting a blood drive for a fellow band member’s younger brother battling leukemia, these young people are a daily reminder that with power, pride and passion for whatever you do- nothing is impossible.
