Replica of gown honors Jackie, JFK wedding anniversary
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Thursday, September 12, would have been John and Jackie Kennedy’s 60th wedding anniversary.
To mark the occasion the JFK Presidential library will feature a paper replica of Jackie's wedding gown.
The dress was created by a Belgian artist who painted, glued and stitched the paper together.
It replicates everything from the pleated bodice to the floral ruffles on the skirt.
The actual silk taffeta gown is too fragile for display.
The couple married on September 12th, 1953 in Newport, Rhode Island when JFK was a Massachusetts senator.
