BOSTON -- Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon showed off his arm strength during a charity event.

He threw a tomato at Dropkick Murphys’ frontman Ken Casey.

The band held a fundraiser called "Rotten Tomato Karaoke" at the Barking Crab in Boston Thursday.

Casey was the first to sing, and Papelbon wasted no time in throwing the first tomato.

"That was the hardest tomato out of the bunch,” Papelbon said. “I threw a 4-seam. I hope y'all have it on tape."

"There was a lot of smaller tomatoes out there,” Casey said. “When I saw him holding that big tomato, I said 'the only thing I got going for me is that this man is a master of control. Anyone else here might hit me in the head’."

Proceeds will go to the band's charity, the Claddagh Fund, which assists with organizations aimed at improving people's lives.
